This piece is about transformation and love, about devotion and sacrifice and about the never-ending circle of life. In Chinese mythology, a woman became a silkworm so she could spend eternity with the one she loved. In reality, a female silkmoth lays up to 300 eggs and often she dies of exhaustion during the process. The tiny yellow eggs hatch into little black worms (kegos) and they continue the cycle.

The writing in Chinese is the text for "The Great Dharani", popularly known as the Great Compassion Mantra. It was spoken by the God/dess of Mercy before an assembly of Buddhas, bodhisattvas, devas and kings. The prayer is often used for purification, protection, and as devotion to the God/dess.

Adoration to the Triple Treasure!
Adoration to Avalokitesvara the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who is the great compassionate one!
Om, to the one who performs a leap beyond all fears!
Having adored him, may I enter into the heart of the blue-necked one known as the noble adorable Avalokitesvara! It means the completing of all meaning, it is pure, it is that which makes all beings victorious and cleanses the path of existence.
Thus:
Om, the seer, the world-transcending one!
O Hari the Mahabodhisattva!
All, all!
Defilement, defilement!
The earth, the earth!
It is the heart.
Do, do the work!
Hold fast, hold fast!
O great victor!
Hold on, hold on!
I hold on.
To Indra the creator!
Move, move, my defilement-free seal!
Come, come!
Hear, hear!
A joy springs up in me!
Speak, speak! Directing!
Hulu, hulu, mala, hulu, hulu, hile!

the words actually said "senora y madre"...
i think it's interesting that in one of the many different variation of the God/dess of Mercy of her delivering an infant; reminds me of icons of Mary and baby Jesus in Catholicism.
